A Little History

Hello! My name is Kristie Laverdiere, owner of Lavender Hills Farm LLC. I just wanted to share a little about myself and our mission here on our farm. 

I actually grew up on a beef farm in Granby, CT which is pictured here with my husband Wesley and our pup Willow. Growing up, I had a huge passion for agriculture and still do today. Formally I was a FFA organization member and an active member of my local 4-H club. Leading into my adulthood, I knew being in the agricultural industry was the only path for me. So I went to SUNY Cobleskill to continue my education earning my Associates degree in Agricultural Business and a Bachelors in Animal Science. Once I joined the workforce I had the great opportunity to have several careers in many aspects of our local farming community. Over the past 10 years my desire to be a business owner only intensified. 

Which leads us to where we are today! As of January 2023, I have officially taken over Lost Ruby Farm's cheese business from Antonio Guindon and Adair Mali, who are the former owners of the cheese business! Over the past year I have been working under their amazing guidance to ensure my cheese products will continue to be nothing but the best that it possibly can be. 

Currently I am milking 10 wonderful goat gals. Although we are not certified organic, we use hay grown ourselves and Blue Seal Feeds.
